  • Phone Number and WhatsApp Contact (for notifications)

  • Professional Resume/CV Data

Third-Party Authentication Data

If you choose to register or log in using third-party accounts, we collect:

  • Google OAuth: Basic profile information (Name, Email, Profile Picture) authorized by you.
  • GitHub/GitLab OAuth: Public profile information, username, email, and optionally your public repositories and contribution history for skill verification purposes.

Skill Assessment & Proctoring Data (Vault)

When you participate in proctored skill assessments through our Vault feature, we collect:

  • Assessment responses, scores, and completion data
  • Webcam video/images during proctored sessions for identity verification
  • Screen activity and browser focus data during assessments
  • Audio recordings during proctored sessions (if enabled)
  • Device fingerprint and environment information
  • Timestamp and duration data for assessment sessions

AI-powered proctoring is used to detect potential violations of assessment integrity. This data is processed to ensure fair and accurate skill verification.

Data from External Sources

With your consent, we may collect professional information from publicly available sources to enhance your profile:

  • Professional networking profiles (LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Code repositories and contributions (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
  • Professional certifications and credentials
  • Published work, portfolios, and project contributions

Usage Data

We may automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the platform. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, and information about how and when you use our platform.

  • Facilitate account creation and authentication process.
  • Match candidates with potential job opportunities using AI-powered matching algorithms.
  • Conduct skill assessments and verify professional competencies.
  • Monitor assessment integrity through AI-powered proctoring.
  • Send notifications via email, SMS, or WhatsApp (with your consent).
  • Send administrative information to you (updates, security alerts).
  • Protect our services from fraud and abuse.
  • Improve our AI models and assessment accuracy (using anonymized data).

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We may share your data in the following situations:

  • With Employers/Recruiters: If you apply for a job or make your profile visible, your resume, profile information, contact details (including phone number, email, and location), and verified skill assessment results will be shared with potential employers and recruiters.
  • Background Verification Partners: With your explicit consent, we may share necessary information with third-party background verification service providers to conduct employment, education, identity, and other relevant background checks.
  • Third-Party Service Providers: We work with service providers for SMS/WhatsApp notifications, payment processing, cloud infrastructure, and AI/ML services. These providers have access to your data only to perform tasks on our behalf.
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.

5. Background Verification

vHire may facilitate background verification services through third-party providers. By using our platform and consenting to background checks, you acknowledge that:

  • Your personal information (including identity documents, employment history, education records) may be shared with authorized verification agencies.
  • Third-party verification providers operate under their own privacy policies and terms of service.
  • Verification results will be shared with prospective employers who have requested the background check.
  • You may be required to provide additional documentation or consent for specific verification types.

6. Google API Services Disclosure

vHire's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. GitHub/GitLab Data Usage

If you connect your GitHub or GitLab account, we may access:

  • Your public profile information and email address
  • Public repository information and contribution statistics
  • Code samples for skill verification (with your explicit consent)

This data is used solely to verify your technical skills and enhance your candidate profile. We do not access private repositories without explicit consent.

8. AI and Automated Processing

We use artificial intelligence and automated processing for:

  • Resume parsing and skill extraction
  • Candidate-job matching and recommendations
  • Skill assessment evaluation and scoring
  • Proctoring and assessment integrity monitoring
  • Fraud detection and platform security

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Specifically:

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active, plus 2 years after deletion request
  • Assessment recordings: Retained for 90 days after assessment completion
  • Background verification data: Retained as required by applicable law
  • Communication logs: Retained for 1 year for dispute resolution

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under data protection laws (such as the DPDP Act in India, GDPR in Europe) regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18.
